Conversion of Square meters to Square Feet is required for various purposes it is required to change the area into smaller and more convenient units. Area is calculated using various methods in square units.

Mathematically, an area may be defined as the space filled by the surface of an item. The number of unit squares that cover the surface of a closed figure is the figure’s area. The area is measured in square units like square centimeters, square feet, square inches, and so on.

Note: Suppose we want to compare and find out which of the two mathematical quantities given to us is larger. For this we first need to make sure that the units of both of those quantities are same. As comparison can be only done between quantities having same units.

What is Square Meter and Square Feet?

A square meter is a measure of the area covered by a surface. One meter square is defined as the total area covered by a square having each side equal to 1 meter. Since the meter is the SI unit of calculating, therefore, the SI unit for calculating the area is a meter square. The symbol used is m2.

A square foot is a measure of the area covered by a surface. One square foot is defined as the total area covered by a square having each side equal to 1 foot. The symbol used is ft. For most practical purposes, square feet are used more commonly than a square meter.

1 meter = 3.28084 feet

Squaring on both sides of the equation.

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet.

The above-shown relation can be used for making conversions when required. Similarly, square feet is also converted to square meter.

Solved Examples on Square Meter to Square Feet Conversion

Example 1: Suppose a person owns 100 square meters of land. Find how much land he owns in square feet.

Solution:

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet.

100 sq meter = 1076.3911105 sq feet.

Land he owns in square feet = 1076.3911105 sq feet.

Example 2: The total land owned by a person is 1248 square meters. Find out how much land he owns in square feet.

Solution:

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet.

1248 sq meter = 13,433.36105904sq feet.

Land he owns in square feet = 13,433.36105904 sq feet.

Example 3: A person owns a piece of land with a total area of 12500 square meters. Find the cost of plowing the land if it costs 0.5/ square feet to plow.

Solution:

Given: Area of the land = 12500 m2

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet

12500 sq meter = 1,34,548.8888125 sq feet..

So the total cost of ploughing the land will be = 0.5 × 1,34,548.8888125

= Rs 67,274.44440

So the total cost of ploughing the land will be Rs 67,274.44440

Example 4: Suppose there exists a piece of land with dimensions of 12 m and 18 m. Find the area of this field in sq feet.

Solution:

Given: Area of the land = 12 × 18 m2.

Area in sq feet = 12 × 18 × 10.763911105.

So the area in sq feet = 2,325.00479868 sq feet.

Example 5: Suppose there exist two land fields having areas of 112 m2 and 148 m2; find the total area of these fields in sq feet.

Solution:

 Area of the land = 12 × 18 m2.

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet

Area in sq feet = (112 + 148) × 10.763911105.

So the area in sq feet = 2,798.6168873 sq feet.

Example 6: Suppose a person owns 1200 square meters of land; find how much land he owns in square feet.

Solution:

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet

Area in sq feet = 1200 × 10.763911105.

So the area in sq feet = 12,916.693326 sq feet.

Example 7: Suppose a person owns 14000 square feet of land, find how much land he owns in square meters.

Solution:

1 sq meter = 10.763911105 sq feet

14000 square feet = \frac{14000} {10.763911105}       sq meters.

So the area in sq meters = 1,300.6424  sq meters.
