The circumference of a circle is 100 cm. The side of a square inscribed in the circle is:
(A) 50(2^0.5)
(B) 100/Pi
(C) [50(2^0.5)]/Pi
(D) [100(2^0.5)]/Pi

Answer: (C)

Explanation: Given,
Circumference = 100cm
2*Pi*r = 100
r = 50/Pi.
The diagonal of the square inscribed, D = 2r = 100/Pi.
Area of the square = 1/2 * D^2 = 1/2 * (100/Pi)^2
Therefore, Side of the square = [ 1/2 * (100/Pi)^2 ]^0.5
= 1/(2^0.5) * 100/Pi = 50(2^0.5)/Pi.
