jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxGrid is used to illustrate a jQuery widget that shows data in tabular form. Moreover, it renders full support for connecting with data, as well as paging, grouping, sorting, filtering, and editing.

The updatebounddata() method is used to update the data that is bound and refresh the displayed jqxGrid. If the user wants to update the filtering then ‘filter’ can be used as a parameter and if one wants to update in sorting then ‘sort’ can be used as a parameter. However, in order to update just the data excluding the columns, the ‘data’ parameter is used. For updating the cells, “cells” can be used as the parameter. It has an optional parameter named type which is of type string. It does not return anything.

Note:

  • If “cells” is passed as a parameter then it will refresh just the values of the cells whenever the count of the new rows is equivalent to the count of the previous rows.
  • For making a complete update user must not pass any parameter.

Syntax:

$('Selector').jqxGrid('updatebounddata');
