jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxGrid is used to illustrate a jQuery widget that shows data in tabular form. Moreover, it renders full support for connecting with data, as well as paging, grouping, sorting, filtering, and editing.

The columngroups property is used to enable the multiple column headers in the displayed jqxGrid. It is of Array type and its default value is [].

The available values to be used in the array are as follows:

  • parentgroup: It is utilized to set the parent group name of the column header.
  • name: It is used to set the name of the column header.
  • align: It is used to set the alignment for the column header. And the possible values can be ‘left’, ‘center’, or ‘right’.

Syntax:

  • Set the columngroups property:
$('Selector').jqxGrid({ columngroup: [] });
  • Return the columngroups property:
var columngroups = $('Selector').jqxGrid('columngroups');
