Give differences between Summer Monsoon and Retreating Monsoon
Monsoon refers to seasonal prevail winds in regions of South and South East Asia, blowing from direction of south-west between months of May and September and bringing heavy rainfalls or from north east between October and April. Two types of monsoon are:
Summer Monsoon
The summer monsoon happens between April and September. It is usually associated with heavy rainfall. After the end of the winter warm and moist air from the southwest Indian ocean blows towards countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. This monsoon brings a humid climate and torrential rainfall to these areas.
Retreating Monsoon
At the time of the October-November month, the southwest monsoon winds become weaker and start to retreat from the skies of north India. This phase is known as the retreating monsoon. The climate at the time of retreating monsoon, skies become clearer and clouds disappear. Severe tropical cyclones emerge from the Bay of Bengal.
